About Charlie

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute where I received comprehensive training in relational psychodynamic approaches to therapy. My graduate work emphasized attachment theory, parts work, systems thinking, and culturally-informed clinical practice. My clinical experience has included working systemically with students, faculty, and parents in a middle school environment to foster youth development and emotional wellbeing.

My career before clinical training included working internationally as an outdoor industry professional as well as software sales and leadership in San Francisco. My previous work experience brings deeper multicultural awareness as well as direct experience and insight into the bay area technology world.

Beyond traditional clinical training, I bring somatic awareness into my therapeutic approach, informed by my 200-hour yoga teacher training and over a decade of practice. Our bodies often hold clues to what's happening internally before we have words for it - tension in the shoulders, tightness in the chest. This body-centered approach is especially valuable for people who find it difficult to identify or articulate specific emotions and need a more grounded starting place to reconnect with their emotional experience of the world.

I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT 159603) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC 21653) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, working under the clinical supervision of Jennifer Dorsey, LMFT.
